had heard about some work down south, but
didn't have no horse. An'
bein' broke, I had no choice, but
to rustle one, of course. It
only was a sway-backed nag. Why
did Jones draw that gun? I
knew I had to shoot him or
spend life out on the run. Chorus:

can feel the fire's tongue. I
should've heeded Mama's words, when
I was pure and young.. I'm
feelin' mighty fearful as I
hear Mom's wise words ring: "Just
