Good
Ol’ Boy Copyright©2003, Michael S. Robinson
I
would give my life for that dear old flag-- in
Afghanistan, Korea, or Iraq If
the president called, I be there, in a flash, even
if he’d caught me in the sack. Yep,
my country’s so dear, I’d give up sex and beer, to
be numbered with the loyal and the true. I’m
a patriot guy, who would answer the cry, and
defend the dear, red, white, and blue Chorus:
I
give thanks every day for the American way, for
my country’s my love and my joy, I’m
devout, to the max, but I cheat on my tax, ‘cause
I’m simply a good ol’ boy. I’ve
got kids I adore that I’ve sacrificed for, and
they’re doin’ mighty well in public school. Gotta
real fine dog, an’ a house made of log and a double "D" gal, who’s a jewel. So
I’m ready to give, for this life that I live, in
the home of the brave and the free, There’s
no cost that’s to great when my country’s first-rate, and
the one place that I want to be. Chorus:
I
would fight, with the best, take a shot in the chest, for
my country’s my pride and my joy. I’m
devout, to the max, but I cheat on my tax, ‘cause
I’m simply a good ol’ boy. Chorus:
I
give thanks every day for the American way, for
my country’s my love and my joy, I’m
devout, to the max, but I cheat on my tax,
